What is recorded here

A documentary reference to Hollywood in 1256-66 states that its burgesses had the customs of Breteuil (MacNeill 1950 122). The only surviving remnant is the motte (WI009-017001-). The present parish church of Dragoonhill (WI009-017002-) to the E is probably on the site of an earlier church. (Bradley and King 1989, 48-52; Fitzgerald 1915-17) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Wicklow' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload/revision: 17 December 2008

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
