What is recorded here
Dechomet is a post-medieval settlement in Deehommed, County Down, where human life left marks the land still holds. It may have been a cluster of homes, a trading spot, or a forgotten administrative centre, but people certainly lived there. The exact layout has faded, yet the name preserves the fact that Dechomet mattered enough to remember.
The official Northern Ireland record identifies this as Historic Settlement Dechomet. Recorded period: POST-MED. The official map point was placed at the centre of the recorded archaeological site from the source map reference.
