Historic building

End-of-terrace five-bay three-storey rubble stone warehouse, c.1820, originally terraced with pair of square-headed carriageways to left ground floor. Now disused. Pitched slate roof with clay ridge tiles, rubble stone chimney stack, and no rainwater goods remaining on rendered squared rubble stone eaves. Random rubble stone walls with lime mortar. Square-headed window openings with no sills, and timber lintels supporting rubble stone voussoirs. Remains of timber fittings with some openings having wrought iron bars. Pair of square-headed carriageways to left ground floor with timber lintels, and timber boarded sliding doors. Road fronted with concrete footpath to front.

An attractive substantial building, the rubble stone construction of which produces an attractive textured effect in the streetscape. In reasonable condition, the building retains most of its original form and fabric despite the fact that it is apparently now disused. The building is of particular significance as evidence of an early industrial centre in Cappoquin. The building forms a neat group with a further building of similar appearance but smaller scale immediately to south (22810018/WD-21-10-18), and conforms to the topography of the sloping site through the use of a stepped roofline.
