This blue commemorative plaque records: The coffin of Henry Trigg. High up in the roof of this building rests a coffin which at one time contained the body of Henry Trigg. His will (1724) specified that his body was to be 'decently laid there, upon a floor in the roof'
Henry Trigg was an 18th-century resident whose unusual will request for his coffin to be placed in the building's roof reflects eccentric personal wishes and provides insight into early modern burial practices.
