Hell's Lum Crag is a sea cliff composed of basaltic rock, formed during the Mesozoic era through volcanic activity associated with the opening of the North Atlantic. It is notable for its resistant columnar jointing and coastal exposure, which provide insight into ancient igneous processes in the Moray region.
