What is recorded here

The National Monuments Record of Wales records Haverfordwest Castle as Castle from the Post Medieval; Medieval period. The saved point comes from the official national record. Inclusion does not by itself mean that the public may enter the place.
Haverfordwest Castle was built by the de Briouze family in the late 12th or early 13th century and later held by the Crown following the revolt of 1265. It is important as a notable example of medieval military architecture and as a historical site linked to the suppression of the Barons' War in south-west Wales.

The historic-place record does not grant public access. Check current conditions and ownership before entering land or a building.
