What is recorded here

Unknown Townland in County Dublin concealed medieval life beneath ordinary soil. Excavations in 1996 revealed a series of pits and gullies dating to the 12th century. The shape of the site suggests people dug, stored, discarded and returned across generations. What is missing is the sound of that place: carts, argument, children, rain on a roof no longer named.
Excavations in 1996 revealed a series of medieval pits and gullies dating to the 12th century (Mc Conway 1997, 23).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
