Habitation site in Marshes Upper

Discovered during the development of playing pitches at Dundalk Institute of Technology (Excavation Licence No. 02E0235 (area 9)). A pit (L 1m; Wth 0.7m; D 0.22m) dated to the middle Bronze Age and containing charcoal, a little cremated bone, a flint scraper and 221 sherds of Bronze Age pottery was uncovered. Associated with the pit were other pits and post-holes representing some form of domestic structure.
