Excavated in advance of construction of the N9/N10 Kilcullen-Waterford Road (Excavation Licence number E2610). On a crest of a gentle SW facing slope, bounded by a stream to the S. Three groupings of pits (15 in total) dating to the Early Neolithic were discovered. A large assemblage of sherds of Early Neolithic Carinated pottery were recovered from 9 of the pits. The following calibrated radiocarbon dates were obtained from charred hazelnut shell from three of the pits: 3638-3377 BC; 3634-3377 BC and 3635-3380 BC. Found in asssociation with a flat cemetery (CW012-146----), four ring-ditches (CW012-147----, CW012-148----, CW012-149---- and CW012-150----) and two kilns (CW012-151---- and CW012-152----).
