Guildhall in Dublin South City

Guildhall

What is recorded here

Guildhall in Dublin South City traces to St Anne's Guild, active beside St Audeons Church by the mid 15th century. Craft people, merchants or worshippers may have gathered there to bargain, pray and remember one another. The hall part has faded from the name, but the joining function remains visible in the place itself.
Clarke mentions the former existence of St Anne's Guild based in the mid 15th century in St Audeons Church (2002, 23).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
