On the evening of October 30, 1993, three gunmen entered the crowded Rising Sun Bar in Greysteel during a Halloween party and opened fire with automatic weapons. They killed eight civilians and wounded thirteen before fleeing the scene. The Ulster Defence Association claimed the attack as revenge for the Shankill Road bombing just a week earlier. What began as celebration became a chamber of sudden violence, leaving behind a wound that still marks the memory of that place.
