Green Brae is a sea cliff composed primarily of Carboniferous sandstone, formed around 300 to 360 million years ago through sedimentary deposition in ancient river and delta systems. It is notable for its exposure of resistant rock layers that contribute to the distinctive coastal landscape of Northumberland.
