Graveyard in Kilkenny

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Kill Kullchuynne is a lost graveyard in County Roscommon, erased in the early 20th century but preserved in the Registry of Clonmacnoise. It lies hidden in a low-lying, undulating landscape, with burials discovered nearby yet none known at the exact site. The place still belongs to memory, waiting for someone to walk the field and imagine who was laid to rest there.
Described as the site of a church (RO051-009001-) and graveyard which had been removed in the early 20th century (Egan 1954-6, 20) and which is listed as Kill Kullchuynne in the Registry of Clonmacnoise (O'Donovan 1856-7, 455). Situated in a low-lying position in an undulating landscape, although its location is not precisely known. It is not visible at ground level. Although burials have been discovered 180m to the SE (RO051-098----), 220m to the S (RO051-099----), and 300m to the SSW (RO048-100----), none are known from this location.
