What is recorded here

Inishtemple Island in County Leitrim carries a graveyard name though no grave or fence remains visible near the church. The place still belongs to death and memory, even when the earth has hidden its proof.

The OS Name Books (No. 84, 533) make passing reference to an old burying ground on Inishtemple island, but there is no evidence of burial or enclosure in the immediate vicinity of the church (LE002-022001-). Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 16 December, 2015
