What is recorded here

Grass grows tall in Fiddown, hiding the graves of people who lived and died before written records reached them. The land has waited patiently through centuries of rain and forgetting, keeping its dead beneath soil rather than stone. What is buried there is no longer certain, but the certainty of death remains, unchanged and absolute.
