Graveyard in Barragh

Graveyard

What is recorded here

Graveyard in Barragh stands twenty metres north of its church in County Carlow, an irregular patch of earth holding eighteenth-century headstones. The stones have watched generations pass, marking deaths and memories before modern records existed. Their age suggests families buried here during centuries of change in this part of Ireland. The graveyard preserves what written history often forgets: the shape of local life through loss, faith and continuity.
