Graveyard

Ballintemple is an irregular graveyard in County Offaly where a 1603 graveslab vanished after being documented in the late nineteenth century. The place still holds its stone wall and northern church ruin, but the marked monument has retreated into soil, shadow or forgotten rearrangement. It remains recorded yet unavailable, preserving the quiet strangeness of graves that stop answering to memory.
