Graveslab (present location) in Dublin South City preserves a fragment recovered from St Sampson's, Balgriffin Park. The surviving stone now rests in the National Museum, carrying forward a burial marker from a church no longer standing in its old form. What is missing is easier to imagine than what remains: a name worn smooth, a prayer half erased, a life reduced to a edge of stone.

A grave-slab fragment was found at the site of the church of St Sampson's, Balgriffin Park (DU015-012002-) and is housed in the National Museum (NMI 1958:60).

A Christian grave slab; early medieval period. It is significant as a rare surviving example from a now-lost ecclesiastical site, indicating early monastic activity in the Dublin area.
