Graveslab in St. Patricksrock is a graveslab in St. Patricksrock, County Tipperary, Ireland. It lies in the cathedral choir on the Rock of Cashel and measures 1.93 metres in length, 0.85 metres at the top, 0.60 metres at the base and 0.08 metres in thickness. The tapering stone carries a seven-armed segmental fleur-de-lis cross in relief, with three-barred knops at the bases of the cross-head and cross-shaft above a stepped base. A Latin inscription in Black Letter script runs along both sides and records that Daniel Jacobs, a skilled lawyer and burgess of Cashel, died in March 1588.
Lying in the choir of the cathedral (TS061-025003-) on the Rock of Cashel. A tapering slab (L 1.93m; Wth at top 0.85m; Wth at base 0.60m; T 0.08m) which is decorated with a seven-armed segmental fleur-de-lis cross, carved in relief with a three-barred knop at the base of the cross-head and at the base of the cross-shaft, the latter rests on a stepped base (Maher 1997, 72). A latin inscription, in Black Letter script runs along the dexter and sinister sides (ibid.). It has been transcribed by FitzGerald (1901-03, vol. 5, 437) as: HIC JACET DANIELUS JUCCOIGHE JURIS PERITUS AC CASSELL BURGENSIS [QUI OBIIT] ...MENSE / MARTII ANNO DNI M[CCCCC]SS (sic)', which Maher (1997, 72) translates as, 'Here lies Daniel Jacobs skilled lawyer and burgess of Cashel who died in the month of March, A.D. 1588'.
