Graveslab in Newtown is a coffin-shaped sandstone headstone standing twelve metres east of the Cathedral corner, its name erased by time but its floriated cross still visible on the eastern face. It belongs to the old graveyard beside the parish church, where death and faith still share the same ground. The stone may have marked a child, a cleric or a forgotten family, yet it remains upright and unbroken while newer monuments fade around it.

Located in the graveyard (ME036-049014-) attached to the Cathedral and the parish church of Newtown, c. 12m E of the SE corner of the Cathedral. A coffin-shaped sandstone headstone (H 0.9m; Wth 0.42-0.48m; T 0.11m) is set upright but with no inscription. It has a moulded edge and a badly worn floriated cross incised on its E face, the stem of which (Wth 0.07m) can be distinguished. Compiled by: Michael Moore Date of upload: 9 July, 2019
