What is recorded here
Kill Of THE Grange holds a sandstone graveslab set horizontally into the church wall, marking a life ended before Norman rule. Its double-line cross and rounded knob still protrude through mortar, waiting for hands that forgot the name but never the shape. The green rise keeps the slab company, preserving a quiet act of remembrance against time.
Situated on a low rise, in a green area, NE of Kill Abbey road. Possible cross-inscribed slab identified by Cormac Bourke (pers. comm. 06/01/2023). The sandstone rectangular-shaped slab was set horizontally into the external face of the SW antae of the pre-Norman Church (DU023-015001-) at the Kill of the Grange. The slab is decorated with a double-line shaft of a possible cross with a semi-circular shaped terminal or knop.
The site is located within a complex which includes a pre-Norman church with a late medieval chancel (DU023-015001-), a graveyard (DU023-015002-), a holy well (DU023-015003-) a bullaun stone (DU023-015007-), a cross-inscribed stone (DU023-015005-), a stone font (DU023-015009), the base of a stone cross (DU023-015008-), and two crosses (DU023-015004) from the former laneway into the graveyard which are now in the care of the OPW in Trim, county Meath.

A cross-inscribed graveslab, likely medieval in date; its significance lies in the potential Christian symbolism and funerary context, indicative of early ecclesiastical activity in the area.
