Graveslab in Inishcaltra OR Holy Island

Graveslab

What is recorded here

Inishcaltra is a small island off County Clare where a saint’s graveyard still holds undecorated stones. One graveslab lies uneven in the eastern half, close to the north and east walls. It is not numbered on the old plan, though it was drawn there. That absence makes the stone feel less like a record and more like a forgotten person, waiting to be remembered.
Situated in the E half of the Saint’s graveyard (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra, 10.65m from the N wall and 11.6m from the E wall. An undecorated, uneven, recumbent graveslab (L 1.13m E-W; Wth 0.42m) drawn but not numbered on Macalister’s plan of the graveyard (1916-17, pl. XV).
