Inishcaltra is a small island off County Clare where a broken graveslab still lies inside Teampul na bhFear nGonta. The slab measures about two metres long and belongs to the saint’s graveyard, where four such stones mark buried people rather than empty legend. Its three pieces may have fallen when the chamber shifted, been damaged by storms, or been handled by later worshippers. Whatever broke it, the island kept the shape of a human life large enough to remember.

A recumbent graveslab (L 2.06m; Wth 0.57m), one of four slabs on the floor of ‘Teampul na bhFear nGonta’ (CL029-009015-) (see also CL029-009104-, CL029-009160- and CL029-009161-) in the ‘Saint’s graveyard’ (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra.
