What is recorded here
Graveslab in Inishcaltra OR Holy Island is an undecorated recumbent stone, 0.84m long and 0.23m wide, lying in the west half of the Saint’s graveyard on Inis Cealtra. It rests 15.9m from the south wall and 8.1m from the west wall, close enough to touch the breath of the place but far enough to keep its own silence. Macalister drew it in 1916-17 yet never numbered it, as if the island withheld one name even from his pen. Perhaps it belongs to someone the saint forgot, or someone the sea returned without a story.
Situated in the W half of the Saint’s graveyard (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra, 15.9m from the S wall and 8.1m from the W wall. An undecorated recumbent graveslab (L 0.84m; Wth 0.23m) drawn but not numbered on Macalister’s plan of the graveyard (1916-17, pl. XV).
