What is recorded here
Half-swallowed by turf and shadow, the slab lies flat in the western half of the Saint’s graveyard on Inis Cealtra, its bare stone unmarked by chisel or legend. It may have covered a child, a hermit, or a forgotten traveller, but the grass has claimed the name and the shape remains only a low ridge beneath the soil.
Situated in the W half of the Saint’s graveyard (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra, 16.4m from the S wall and 8.15m from the W wall. An undecorated and partially sod-covered recumbent graveslab (L 0.53m; traceable Wth 0.4m) drawn but not numbered on Macalister’s plan of the graveyard (1916-17, pl. XV).
