Inishcaltra is a small island off County Clare where people have buried their dead since the earliest Christian centuries. The graveslab lies flat in the SW corner of the Saint’s graveyard, not far from a cross-base and the south wall. It is plain, tapering from forty-two centimetres wide at one end to twelve at the other, yet it marks a real body and a life that ended there.

Situated in the SW corner of the Saint’s graveyard (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra, 1.5m E of the small kerbed enclosure containing a cross-base (CL029-009016-) and 7.7m from the S wall. An undecorated recumbent graveslab (L 1.2m; Wth 0.42m at the W end and 0.12m at the E end) drawn but not numbered on Macalister’s plan of the graveyard (1916-17, pl. XV).
