What is recorded here
Graveslab in Inishcaltra OR Holy Island is an undecorated recumbent stone lying twenty-one and a half metres from the south wall of the Saint’s graveyard. It measures less than a metre long, small enough for one body or one forgotten child, yet it has outlasted every name that may have been spoken above it. The western half of the island graveyard keeps its own time, untouched by display or praise.
Situated in the W half of the Saint’s graveyard (CL029-009030-) on Inis Cealtra, 21.5m from the S wall and 1.9m from the W wall. An undecorated recumbent graveslab (L 0.88m; Wth 0.61m) drawn but not numbered on Macalister’s plan of the graveyard (1916-17, pl. XV).
