Graveslab in Clonegall, County Carlow: one of two exceptionally weathered granite graveslabs, one bearing an incised cross. Rain and time have softened its edges until the cross floats like a shadow cut through stone. Whoever laid it there believed the mark would outlive memory, and perhaps it has.

Christian graveslab, likely medieval in date. Its incised cross indicates a religious or funerary context, typical of early Christian or medieval Ireland.
