What is recorded here

Grave Yd is a narrow stone-walled graveyard in County Cork where the earliest headstone appeared in 1766 and the ruined chapel of Inishcarra parish still leans in the northwest quadrant. The ground slopes away from that broken church, pulling the eye downward through rows of late 18th- and 19th-century markers. It remains in occasional use, suggesting that memory and burial continue alongside the old stones rather than fading behind them.

On N side of road; roughly wedge-shaped graveyard (c. 70m E-W; c. 25m N-S at W end, very narrow at E end) enclosed by stone wall. Still in occasional use; mainly late 18th- and 19th-century headstones, the earliest noted dated 1766; also low uninscribed gravemarkers. In NW quadrant, ruins of chapel-of-ease for Inishcarra parish (9506); ground slopes noticeably down from church.
