Grave Yd.

This graveyard (c. 77m NE-SW; c. 56m E-W), which is very irregular in outline, is delimited by a wall that was built by the Office of Public Works in the late 19th century. Within it is most of the monastic complex known as na Seacht Teampaill/the Seven Churches, including Teampall Bhreacáin/Temple Brecan(GA110-010001-) and a number of associated domestic buildings (GA110-010006- to GA110-010013-), four leachtaí (GA110-023001- to GA110-023003- and GA110-023009-) and numerous cross-slabs (GA110-023010- and GA110-023013- to GA110-023024-). Most of the burials are concentrated to the NE, E and S of the church and there are also some within the church as well as the domestic buildings. Monastic cemetery, early medieval period (c. 7th–12th century). Its association with the Eoghanacht dynasty suggests regional political and religious significance.
