Grave Yard is a rectangular graveyard north of St James' Parish Church in County Dublin, enclosed by a post-1700 stone wall and holding sixteenth-century burials. It measures 96 metres north-south and 60 metres east-west, large enough for generations to walk beside the dead without crowding them. The church sits inside its reach on three sides, as if built to listen rather than dominate. What was buried there before records survived has not gone quiet; it has simply stopped answering in ways we recognise.

Described by Ní Mharcaigh (1997, 276) as; 'The old graveyard, which has some sixteenth-century burials, surrounds it on three sides'.
