What is recorded here

Nine metres wide and fourteen deep, the oval graveyard in Grange, County Galway, holds a child's grave marked by a single inscribed slab. The contrast between the haphazard stones to the north and the aligned rows to the south suggests burials accumulated across different periods, each community leaving its own pattern in the ground. The drystone wall and ruined church at its centre point to a sacred plot used for centuries in the west of Ireland.
This monument is subject to a preservation order made under the National Monuments Acts 1930 to 2014 (PO no. 1/1989).
