Graveyard

What is recorded here

Located on a rise in a fairly level landscape. The parish church of Kilcarn (ME031-003----) is within a rectangular graveyard (dims c. 55m E-W; c. 50m N-S) defined by earthen banks and trees, except on the N where the perimeter has been removed and the graveyard extended (dims c. 75m N-S; c. 55m E-W). The graveslab of Barry Humphry (ME031-003003-) is within the church (FitzGerald 1908) and a small cross-inscribed stone (ME031-003004-) is in the graveyard, but the decorated font (ME031-003002-) from this church (Roe 1968, 65-6) is now in the Roman Catholic church at Johnstown c. 900m to the NNW.
