Graveyard

What is recorded here

Located on a slight, broad col. The probable parish church of Killesk (WX039-035002-) is within a D-shaped graveyard (int. dims 58m NW-SE; 35m NE-SW) defined by an overgrown earthen bank (Wth c. 2.5m; int. H 1.5m), with an external stone cladding on the bank W-N. The perimeter is augmented with old spoil at the straight SE side and the adjacent parts of the SW and E (Wth 6m) sides. There is a relict roadway outside the graveyard perimeter N-SE. There are a few headstones in the neglected graveyard dating from 1715 to 1985, but only the N part is used for burial, the S half being overgrown.
