Grave Yard (Disused)

Associated with a church (LF018-039----). This approximately oval-shaped graveyard (37m N-S; 29m E-W) comprises a raised area that was formerly enclosed by a stone wall of which only the footings remain. However, the entrance, wrought-iron gate and piers are still upstanding. A number of low upright grave-markers are visible but there are no inscribed memorials. It may have been the private graveyard of the Brown family of Ballinamore Castle (LF018-038001-), which is c. 440m to the NW, and it may have been abandoned in the late 17th century when the family lost ownership of their lands in this area.
