Half-hidden in wet pasture beside the Tooraleagan River, Gortnaderk Fort keeps its circular shape through bushes and boundary cuts. A fairy fort in local naming, it may have been an ordinary ringfort where people lived, kept animals or marked a claim before the field swallowed the edge. The river still runs past like a witness, carrying rain from both counties while the fort holds quiet under grass.

Gortnaderk Fort is a ringfort, likely dating to the early medieval period, situated in a wet pasture near the Tooraleagan River. It is annotated on the 1840 edition of the Ordnance Survey map and may be associated with local folklore regarding fairy dwellings, as is common with such sites in Irish tradition.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
