Detached two-bay single-storey with dormer attic former gate lodge, built c.1820, having recent single-storey extension to west. Pitched slate roof with cast-iron rainwater goods. Rendered walls throughout. Segmental-headed window openings with render sills and dressed brick voussoirs to east elevation, having two-over-two pane timber sliding sash windows. Square-headed door opening to side (south) elevation of recent extension, having uPVC door. Located in own grounds set back from road with rubble stone boundary wall to east. Gateway to north-east, formerly leading to courtyard of Gortaglanna House, having square-profile rendered rubble stone piers and recent aluminium gate.

Located at the former entrance of Gortaglanna House, this former gate lodge is delightfully simple in design. Its roadside elevation is enlivened by is historic camber-headed sash windows with brick voussoirs. It forms part of a fine group with the main house and related outbuildings.
