Gormanstown Grave Yard holds a hidden depth beneath its uneven soil, where centuries of burial may have built the central mound before the modern wall enclosed the space. The slight rise at the heart of the pasture marks a place where memory was layered repeatedly rather than laid out in neat rows. People may have returned there for generations, trusting the ground to keep what they could not carry with them.

In pasture. A sub-rectangular area (c. 38m NE-SW; c. 26m NW-SE) is enclosed by a modern stone wall. The interior is very uneven and rises towards the centre. The headstones date from the 18th – 20th century. Compiled by: Gearóid Conroy Date of upload: 14 May 2013
