Glass works in Clonbrone (ballybrit By.)

Unlocated 17th centuryglassworks within the townland of Clonbrone that was operated by the Bigoe family and from which the best houses in Dublin were supplied with vessel and window glass (Cooke 1875, 41-3; Loeber 1988, vol. 2, 41). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997).
