What is recorded here

This site was bulldozed in the 1960s, according to local information the site consisted of a small enclosure 20-30ft. in diameter with no signs of an enclosing bank, with whitethorn bushes growing around it. Hachured as circular enclosure on the 1912 edition of the OS 6-inch map. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Offaly' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1997). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research. Date of upload: 23 May 2011
