CHELTENHAM MASONIC HALL 1823 DESIGNED AND BUILT BY GEORGE ALLEN UNDERWOOD ARCHITECT AND FREEMASON (1793-1829) SOCIETY CHELTENHAM CIVIC SOCIETY
George Allen Underwood, an architect and Freemason, designed and built the Cheltenham Masonic Hall in 1823. The building is significant as an early example of Masonic architecture in Cheltenham and reflects the civic and social contributions of Underwood, who was also associated with the Cheltenham Civic Society.
