Gateway, c.1850, comprising pair of tooled limestone ashlar diagonal piers with cut-limestone stringcourses, moulded capping, wrought iron double gates having cast-iron finials, and random rubble stone flanking boundary wall to perimeter of site (including to avenue) with rubble stone vertical coping. Road fronted.
An attractive gateway of formal quality forming a pleasant, if subtle landmark in the landscape. Exhibiting fine stone work the gateway also incorporates wrought iron gates of simple design quality enhancing the visual appeal of the composition.
