What is recorded here
Detached three-bay single-storey garage, built c.1925 in an un-adorned Art Deco style. The building is finished in render with moulded dressings and block and start quoins. The large door opening is flat-headed and has a recent roller shutter metal door. To either side is a small roundel. The roof is completely obscured by the stepped parapet. The building is set back from the road behind a large replacement fence and gate.
In the early part of the 20th century Art Deco was often the preferred modern style for buildings associated with the ultimate in modern convenience, the motorcar . This is an increasingly rare example of the genre and it adds variety and interest to the streetscape.
