What is recorded here

Gallaun is a tall standing stone in County Kerry, caught inside a later fort named for Cromwell. The stone predates that fort by millennia, forcing the fortress to share its presence rather than claim the whole story. Its base still carries packing stones and a leaning slab, evidence that people kept returning to hold it upright long after it first rose from the earth.
