What is recorded here

One stone stood in a Kerry valley west of Knockbrack before men and women stopped remembering it. Mapmakers marked the place twice, then pasture and forgetting took back the stone. The mound nearby may hold chips of that lost marker, waiting for someone to wonder what it pointed at.

In undulating pasture, in a valley to the W of Knockbrack. There are no visible remains of this standing stone which was indicated on the 1846 and 1895 OS 6-inch maps. There is a field-clearance mound in the vicinity of the site of the stone. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Kerry.
