What is recorded here

Gallaun is a 3.43-metre standing stone in Glanleam, County Kerry, still upright inside a later earthwork called Cromwell's Fort. The stone predates that fort by millennia, so the newer structure either claimed the old marker or simply ignored it. A leaning slab and packing stones suggest people later braced it against the shake Chatterton noted in 1839.

Marked as single standing stone only on 1842 OS 6-inch map. On level ground beside driveway leading to house. Removed; no visible surface trace.
