What is recorded here

Three metres of grey stone still stand inside Cromwell's Fort on the Iveragh Peninsula, outliving every human boundary drawn around them. The fort may have claimed the stone or ignored it, but the stone predates the claim by millennia. A leaning slab now braces what Chatterton once shook, turning ancient patience into a small act of human attention.

In rough pasture, on an elevation with views SE to The Paps of Dana. The stone (dims. 0.5m x 0.48m; H 1.77m) is roughly square in plan and orientated NNW-SSE.
