What is recorded here

Gallan stood about one and a half metres tall in a Cork pasture at the foot of Musheramore, yet it escaped both the 1842 and 1904 survey maps. People removed it around 1966, deleting a marker that had probably watched sheep, storms and forgotten roads for centuries. Its absence is not a small loss; it is a hole in the local sky where a stone used to point at something nobody wrote down.
