What is recorded here

Gallan was a tall standing stone in Mid Cork, lost before modern cameras arrived. It stood beside Clashavoon Stream, towering above pasture grass while people passed or worshipped without warning. Then time tilted it into the earth, erasing the very ground where it rose.

Not shown on 1842 and 1904 OS 6-inch maps. In pasture, on E side of Clashavoon Stream. Fallen stone (L 2.1m; 0.8m x 0.05m) which, according to Hartnett (1939, 83) stood '60ins in height'.
