Gallán

Not marked on 1842 OS 6-inch map. Removed c. 1983 and buried beneath milking parlour which now stands on site. According to Bowman (1934, 463), stone was '9ft 7in high by 14ft 5in girth'. Likely dating to the Neolithic or Early Bronze Age, this standing stone may have had ceremonial or territorial significance. Local folklore sometimes associates such stones with saintly figures or supernatural events, though specific traditions for Gallán, Reandallane are not recorded.
